SolaraoLabs builds its own products (a football management game, an outreach platform and an idle RPG) as well as software for clients. Working across such different projects has left us with a small set of principles we apply everywhere. None of them is original. What matters is applying them consistently.
1. Never fabricate
Our operating notes say it plainly: never fabricate client work, completed milestones, testimonials or product features. This website follows the same rule. Every number on it was counted from source code or taken from project files. Where we do not yet have something real, such as a screenshot or a release date, we say so rather than fill the gap.
2. One source of truth
Most bugs in small businesses are not code bugs. They are the same fact written in two places, with only one of them updated. For Made by Rose UK, one product file drives the website, the stock flags, the Etsy listing packs and the labels. In Chairman 27, leagues, cup rules and competition styles are data, so adding a country is a data change rather than an engine change.
3. Make it testable, then test it hard
A game engine and a shop builder are both easy to break quietly. Chairman 27 has an engine lab with scenario checks, and it was put through a 100-season bot run that found 19 bugs before an earlier release candidate. The Made by Rose UK site has a checking script that audits every generated page, including whether anything paused for launch has leaked back into the menus. Our own idle RPG project, Eldervale, runs a backend test suite of several hundred tests. Testing is how we keep the promise in principle 1.
4. Read-only by default
Automation that changes things should ask first. Made by Rose UK’s daily morning check reads orders, stock and materials and reports back. It does not reorder anything on its own. Our outreach tooling has the same principle: extraction scripts are written so they cannot send. It is slower than full automation, and it is much harder to have an expensive accident.
5. Choose dull infrastructure
Static HTML generated from data, a managed database, hosted checkout pages from the payment provider: these are unexciting choices, and that is the point. For Eldervale, the billing design puts card handling entirely with Stripe’s hosted checkout, so the game never sees a card number. For Made by Rose UK, checkout will be Shopify Payments rather than a custom payment integration.
6. Be honest about status
Every product on this site shows where it really is. Chairman 27 is being prepared for Android testing. Empire: Business Tycoon and MMA Legacy are early concepts, and we will not describe features for them until there is something to show. Clients get the same treatment: a demo checkout is labelled as a demo, and a private site stays private until launch day.
