About the game
You're not the manager. You're the chairman. Take charge of a small non-league club and build it into a giant: appoint the manager, set the budgets, sign the sponsors, build the stadium and keep the board and the fans on side. The manager picks the team. You decide everything else.
- Start at the bottom. Begin in the lowest league and climb the pyramid. England runs seven divisions, from the National League North and South up to the top flight. As your reputation grows, you can earn the chance to take over a bigger club.
- Hire and fire. Interview managers and compare their match, coaching and transfer ratings, then agree their wages. Win and they will want a new deal. Lose and the board will want answers. You can also hire assistants, physios, coaches, scouts and a youth coach, with more staff slots opening up at higher levels.
- Money is everything. Season tickets, match tickets, executive boxes, food and drink, shops, merchandise, prize money, sponsorship, naming rights and TV money come in. Wages, bonuses, stadium upkeep, the pitch, facilities and debt interest go out. A weekly finance report shows where every pound went.
- Build your ground. Upgrade each stand seat by seat, add executive boxes, open shops, food outlets and bars, and look after the pitch. Invest in the training ground, the scouting network and the youth academy, or build a brand-new stadium once you outgrow your home.
- Transfers that push back. Clubs haggle. Bids are checked against each country’s transfer window, offers close to the asking price are accepted, and lowball offers can end the talks until the next window. Loans, recalls and AI clubs trading among themselves keep the market moving.
- Watch the matches. Follow your club’s games live on a 2D pitch with commentary and substitutions, or skip straight to full time. Weather and pitch conditions change through the year, and every other fixture in the world is simulated in the background.
- Cups and tournaments. There are 21 domestic cups, three continental club competitions, super cups and a world club cup. Every four years, nations meet in continental championships and a world tournament.
- Your legacy. Earn chairman experience, unlock 70 achievements and put your name in the Hall of Fame. Choose from three difficulty levels, from a patient board to a ruthless one.
Every club, player and manager is fictional. The game is not affiliated with any real club, league or football organisation.
